DESCRIPTION:\nJoin Heart of BS13 at their charity’s sustainable flower farm here at Hartcliffe City Farm for a starter course on growing your own cut flowers.\n\n\n\nThis workshop will equip you with the basic skills, knowledge and confidence start your own beautiful flower patch, whether on your windowsill, or in a yard or the garden at home.\n\n\n\nIt will include a practical introduction to:\n\n\n\n\ncomposting and healthy soil (including their Closed-Loop Composting programme)\n\n\n\nno-dig gardening\n\n\n\nseed-sowing\n\n\n\nwhat to grow\n\n\n\nidentifying good and bad weeds\n\n\n\nidentifying pests and diseases\n\n\n\nchemical-free growing techniques\n\n\n\npricking out seedlings\n\n\n\npotting on plants\n\n\n\nsupporting biodiversity\n\n\n\n\nClem, their florist, will also demonstrate cutting and conditioning techniques that will enhance flower growth and vase life, and guide you through the process of making a rustic flower posy, which you’ll wrap in biodegradable gift paper to take home.\n\n\n\nYou will leave with a starter pack of freshly-sown seeds trays, packs of seedling and multiple potted plants to kick-start your own flower garden.\n\n\n\nWhen:  10am – 1:30pm Sunday 03 May 2026\n\n\n\nCost:  £75Limited £10 spaces available for BS13 residents who are in receipt of means-tested benefits – if this applies to you please select that option when booking.\n\n\n\nMore information and booking is available on the Heart of BS13 website.\n\n\n\nMORE DETAILS AND TO BOOK\n
