Vase Arrangement Design
Join Heart of BS13 for the afternoon at their sustainable flower farm based at Hartcliffe City Farm and learn the skills and techniques of floral vase arrangement.
Their florist, Clem, will guide you through the entire process of arranging your vase, including:
- cutting and conditioning techniques, which improve the longevity of your flowers
- what to use in a vase arrangement, including focal flowers, filler flowers and foliage
- skills in observation and composition – using positive and negative space to make your arrangement really stand out
Supported by Clem, you’ll use your new knowledge to create a floral vase arrangement, using a wonderful selection of their freshly-cut, sustainable flowers. As the workshop will take place in the summer, the garden will be abundant with a wide variety of blooms to cater for your personal colour palette, so you’ll really be able to indulge your creativity and make something you are proud of.
All Heart of BS13’s flowers are grown at their chemical-free, no-dig flower farm in BS13, and they arrange their flowers using foam- and plastic-free methods, making them fully compostable.
This workshop will take place in the timber frame barn at Hartcliffe City Farm, overlooking the vibrant flower garden and set against the beautiful backdrop of the Dundry slopes on the southern edge of Bristol.
It includes a tour of their flower farm, led by Clem, who will talk about their social enterprise’s aims and mission and the importance of sustainable, low carbon flowers, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
