Wellbeing

Looking to boost your wellbeing?

If you experience mild to moderate mental health challenges, volunteering in our wellbeing groups is a chance to:

  • improve mental and physical wellbeing
  • increase resilience
  • be socially connected
  • regain or build skills for personal development and employability
  • have a valued role in contributing to a farm that is loved and used by its local community

Sessions take place on mornings and afternoons during the week and are facilitated by a member of staff from the Wellbeing team. We keep the group size to a maximum of 6 people

Current groups

We are keen to build a varied wellbeing group programme. Suggestions are always welcome. We will update this page when more groups are available.

Cooking
This runs weekly, every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. Learn practical cookery skills, meet new people and share a healthy meal with other volunteers in a friendly, beautiful environment.

Gardening
This runs weekly, every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm. Learn how to grow vegetables, flowers, and develop other gardening skills.

Find out more or apply

To find out more about wellbeing groups, please contact us on 0117 235 5558 or email wellbeing@hartcliffecityfarm.org.uk.

To apply, please complete this ONLINE FORM.

We are unable to offer everyone who applies a volunteering opportunity. We will let you know as soon as possible whether we can take your application forward.

We can’t guarantee an indefinite place in a group as we want to provide opportunities for as many people as possible. We will check in with you at 3 and 6 months to see how things are going.

The farm also seeks to actively engage with people who experience racism and/or are from diverse ethnic heritage and underrepresented in mainstream culture, as well as individuals from deprived areas of the city.
